The General Authority for survey and geospatial information (GEOSA), represented by the Geospatial Academy and in partnership with Tuwaiq Academy, launched the Geospatial Artificial Intelligence (AI) Bootcamp. This program aims to develop trainees' capabilities in utilizing geospatial data and information, and fostering an understanding of its pivotal role in developing smart geospatial solutions, analysing spatial reality, improving planning efficiency, and supporting decision-making based on reliable spatial data.
As part of the bootcamp's activities, GEOSA organized a field visit for the students to introduce them to the geospatial data ecosystem. The visit aimed to familiarize participants with data types, applications, and top associated products and services, as well as the mechanisms of geospatial data production and usage within modern technologies.
The visit included a field tour to a number of GEOSA’s production lines, covering hydrographic survey, remote sensing, aerial photogrammetry, panoramic imaging, smart cities, land survey and geodesy, and the national coverage project, in addition to the supporting sections, labs and printing presses.
At the end of the visit, several final outputs of geospatial products were presented to the participating students (they were 16), enhancing their understanding of geospatial data production stages and their role in developing smart geospatial solutions.
