GEOSA Launches “Using GeoAI in Supporting Decision-making ” Initiative

The General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GEOSA) has announced the launch of the “Using GeoAI in Supporting Decision-making” initiative, which focuses on developing core geospatial analyses by implementing the most widely used geospatial analytical models.

The initiative is based on the integration with the “Saudi GeoHub” platform, that had already launched by GEOSA, which serves as the central nurturing for geospatial data and providing tools to support reliable decision-making.

The initiative includes establishment and implementation of the most commonly used geospatial analyses, such as spatial and temporal analysis, spatial closeness and extension analysis, discover spots of congestion and gatherings, detect changes, 3D and terrain modeling, predictive modeling, and trend analysis.

GEOSA announces the launching of this initiative during the signing of the memorandum of cooperation between GEOSA and Esri. Whereas H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Yahya Al-Sayel, the President of the Geospatial Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information, was signed for and on behalf of GEOSA, and signed for and on behalf of Esri Mr. Jack Dangermond , Founder and President of ESRI.

As a national regulator, GEOSA is responsible for approving and developing the national geospatial infrastructure, setting and updating rules and standards to the Sector to achieve integrated use of geospatial information among relevant agencies.
