The conference held in Riyadh from January 20 to 21, the opening session was addressed by a keynote speech delivered by HE. GEOSA President Dr. Eng. Mohammed bin Yahya Al-Sayel. In this remarks, Dr. Al-Sayel emphasized the importance of geospatial information as a central element in supporting data-driven decision-making based on accurate and reliable data. He also mentioned that geospatial information is a key pillar of supporting digital transformation initiatives and the Kingdom's Vision 2030.​

Dr. Al-Sayel added that, GEOSA is working on developing an integrated system of rules, regulations, and strategies to regulate, supervise, and monitor the geospatial sector, in a manner the achieves quality and efficiency. This includes developing a system for geospatial licenses and permits, qualifying and classification of practitioners, and protecting the interests of stakeholders, all of which contribute to increase the reliability of outputs and enhancing the quality of services.

GEOSA also, participated in the panel discussion on "Geospatial Education," where it emphasized its commitment in building and developing national capacities in the field of geospatial through ongoing collaboration with international universities. This collaboration aims to localize knowledge and integrate it with local universities through postgraduate programs, bridging programs, Mini degrees, and professional certifications. In this regard, GEOSA adheres to the latest standards and requirements for qualifying and classification of practitioners

The conference also featured GEOSA’s participation through an exhibition pavilion showcasing its most prominent initiatives, geospatial products and services, and efforts to build national capacities. The pavilion highlighted the national geospatial infrastructure and its various components, the services provided for geospatial licensing and permits, as well as GEOSA’s most significant achievements and international awards.
