The General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GEOSA) will participate, as a Strategic Sponsor, in the Geospatial World Forum (GWF 2025), scheduled to take place in Madrid, from April 22nd to 25th, 2025. The Geospatial World Forum is the most premium platform of the global geospatial community, bringing together thought leadership, experts, and specialists in the field of data and geospatial information from around the world. Participants will discuss cooperation prospects, investment strategies, and the integration of geospatial technologies, alongside the future of geospatial information infrastructure, knowledge, and innovation. GEOSA’s participation is highlighted through a dedicated booth showcasing its experience in building and developing its National Geospatial Infrastructure. The authority will present its progress in national geospatial data governance, including policies setting, standards, and specifications in accordance with international best practices, as well as highlighting its initiatives in national capacity building, fostering geospatial awareness, and encouraging research and innovation. These efforts aim to maximize the impact of geospatial information in supporting national development and enhancing integration with modern technologies for smart decision-making.

Within the forum’s framework, GEOSA will organize a workshop under theme 'The Saudi Arabian Future Geospatial Ecosystem.' Addressing KSA experience about the concept of the Geospatial Ecosystem, and its role in enhancing the impact of geospatial data as well as its integration with emerging technologies. It will also feature Saudi’s vision about the United Nations Global Geospatial Ecosystem Centre of Excellence (UNGGECE), and its role in shaping the global geospatial future through innovative and qualitative methodologies. Notably, the center was approved by the UN to be hosted in KSA, Riyadh. GEOSA will participate in a dialogue theme 'Geospatial Legal and Policy: Enabling Regulatory Frameworks for Data Governance, Privacy Protection, and AI Integration,' with a presentation on 'The Saudi Experience in Geospatial Legal.' Additionally, another presentation covers 'Saudi Arabia’s Activities and Innovations in Hydrographic Survey' during the forum.

As a national regulator, GEOSA is responsible for the Survey and Geospatial Information and Imaging Sector in the Kingdom. It represents Saudi Arabia locally and internationally, as well as coordinating and cooperating with its counterparts in other countries and with relevant international agencies and organizations.
