The General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GEOSA) was participating in the ESRI conference 2025, held in Riyadh from January 21 to 22, 2025. His excellency Dr. Eng. Mohammed bin Yahya Al Sayel, President of GEOSA, participated in this conference as a keynote speaker at the opening session of the conference, where HE addressed the meeting about ‘’ The Saudi Future Geospatial Information Ecosystem’’. He said that, in compliance with the blessed Vision of our country (Saudi Vision 2030), the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information has adopted the conception of the Future Geospatial Information Ecosystem thereby putting the Kingdom among the forefront countries who have adopted this conception under the name of “the Saudi Future Geospatial Information Ecosystem”, and stressed that the important role of geospatial information as a support tool enabling various development fields.

Acting on the mission assigned to it by virtue of its own organization, His Excellency also emphasized GEOSA’s tireless efforts to develop the geospatial sector to attract investments and enhancing its growth. This includes setting geospatial licenses and Permits system, the qualification and classification of practitioners. His Excellency also noted that GEOSA, a decision for the establishment of a geospatial academy was passed by the Board of Directors.

This Academy would hopefully contribute to the efforts being made for the training and qualification of the national work force in geospatial sector. Eng. Badr Al-Harbi, Executive Manager of the National Geospatial Platform, also participated by submitting a presentation in which he spoke about "Saudi GeoHUB "; the central incubator for geospatial data and the enabling tools for smart decisions-making that support comprehensive development.

GEOSA is also participating in this conference with a booth showcasing its experience in establishing and developing the national geospatial infrastructure, and its future aspirations for empowering the geospatial sector, in addition to reviewing its initiatives to develop licenses and Permits system for geospatial economic activities, GEOSA's efforts in setting geospatial policies, rules, standards and specifications, enhancing national capacity building and encouraging geospatial knowledge, research and innovation.

In this regard, GEOSA is acting on the mission assigned to it by virtue of its own organization, to regulate the sector of survey, geospatial information and imaging in the Kingdom, in a manner that achieves quality and enahnces performance.
