The General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GEOSA) signed a memorandum of cooperation (MoC) with the Saudi Broadcasting Authority (SBA) as part of the activities of the first day of the Saudi Media Forum launched in Riyadh, bringing together the largest regional and international platform that gathers media leaders, decision-makers, and global experts
The MoC aims to enhance media cooperation to serve the geospatial sector and to adopt the use of Saudi Arabia's official map and data issued by GEOSA as an official and accredited source for media professionals. It aims to highlight Saudi Arabia's contributions and its pioneering role in international organizations and committees related to the geospatial sector.
In addition, the MoU seeks to raise awareness of the importance of geospatial information and its role in supporting national development and initiatives and to train and qualify national personnel in the media field.
This memorandum of cooperation was signed for and on behalf of GEOSA, H.E.Dr. Engineer Mohammed bin Yahya Al Sayel, the President of the Geospatial Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information, and signed for and on behalf of Radio and Television Corporation, H.E. Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Harthi, CEO of the Saudi Broadcasting Authority.
As a national regulator, GEOSA is responsible for approving and developing the national geospatial infrastructure, setting and updating rules and standards to the Sector to achieve integrated use of geospatial information among relevant agencies
