All entities engaged in surveying and map production, whether governmental or otherwise, were identified, and all their activities were consolidated under a single entity called the Central Department of Survey, responsible for all surveying work required by any governmental or non-governmental entity.

Approval was granted to transform the Central Department of Survey at the Ministry of Defense into an authority named the General Authority for Survey, with legal personality and an independent budget, reporting to the Minister of Defense.
